Ouagadougou: 50 young people from the Yaadga region committed to building a sovereign and endogenous Burkina Faso. Initiated by the regional directorate of sports, youth and employment of Yaadga, 50 young people from the region took part in an educational camp which closed its doors on Monday, September 7, 2026, in the village of Niessega in the commune of Gourcy.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the educational camp was organized under the theme "Civic education, culture and innovation: building a sovereign and endogenous Burkina Faso." The regional directorate of sports, youth and employment of Yaadga brought together 50 young people from the four provinces of the region, namely Loroum, Passor©, Yatenga, and Zondoma.
The provincial director of sports, youth and employment of Zondoma, Augustin Oudraogo, stated that this activity, now in its second edition, aims to train participants on the values of responsible citizenship, the appreciation of cultural heritage, and the promotion of innovation. The goal is to make them citizens capable of participating in building a sovereign Burkina Faso based on its own resources.
The camp was held under the patronage of the Rural World Association (AMR). From September 1st to 7th, the activities included thematic workshops, panels and conferences, educational talks, cultural and sporting activities, practical work, and tourist outings.
At the closing ceremony, the High Commissioner of Zondoma Province, Aboubacar Sidiki Nab, congratulated the organizers for overcoming challenges to successfully conduct the camp. He emphasized the need for committed, responsible, hardworking, and honest youth for the ongoing revolution and encouraged the participants to share their newly acquired knowledge with their peers.
The National Coordinator of the Rural World Association (AMR), the ceremony's sponsor, urged the participants to be ambassadors who will have a lasting impact on their communities. Harouna Oudraogo, representing the campers, pledged their commitment to be exemplary in their respective communities, asserting that although the camp has ended, their commitment has only just begun.
The second edition of the educational camp concluded with satisfaction and a conviction of having contributed to training 50 builders of a sovereign Burkina Faso.
