Ouagadougou: Chief Warrant Officer Ousmane Zorom reaffirmed his commitment to continue efforts to secure the Loumana department as he assumed his new role as commander of the territorial gendarmerie brigade of Loumana. The formal installation ceremony was presided over by Adama Sawadogo, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Loumana, marking a significant shift in security operations in the area, with responsibilities transitioning from the national police to the national gendarmerie.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the installation event gathered senior officials from both the national police and national gendarmerie, along with members of the special municipal delegation, department heads, Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), Dozos, and traditional and religious authorities. This structural change aligns with regulatory provisions that delineate the territorial jurisdiction areas for the National Police and National Gendarmerie.

Traditional and religious leaders expressed their appreciation to the National Police for their past services to the community and voiced their support for the National Gendarmerie in its new role. Commissioner Adama Diallo, the former commander of the Loumana territorial gendarmerie brigade, expressed his gratitude for the support he received during his tenure.

In his address, Chief Warrant Officer Ousmane Zorom acknowledged the achievements of his predecessor and pledged to maintain security efforts in the Loumana department. Adama Sawadogo commended the National Police for their contributions and reassured citizens of continued public service, emphasizing that the reorganization aims to enhance the operational effectiveness of internal security forces.

Sawadogo stated, "It is the uniform that changes, but the primary mission remains the same," encouraging local authorities and residents to support the National Gendarmerie in fulfilling its responsibilities.
