President Ibrahim Traor Praised for Pivotal Role in Establishing TEXFORCES-BF

Ouagadougou: The Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEXFORCES-BF, Brigadier General Isma«l Kiswendsida Souampa Diaouari, emphasized the crucial role played by President Ibrahim Traor in the establishment of the Burkina Faso Armed Forces Textile Industrial Complex (TEXFORCES-BF). Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held in L´g´fourousso, near Bobo-Dioulasso, General Diaouari attributed the creation of the industrial infrastructure to the "dedication and commitment" of President Traor.

According to Burkina Information Agency, General Diaouari, who also serves as the Chief of Staff to the President of Burkina Faso, highlighted the historical significance and political vision embodied by the complex. He noted that President Traor's conviction from the outset was that a cotton-producing country like Burkina Faso should not allow the majority of added value, jobs, know-how, and foreign exchange linked to this raw material to be created elsewhere.

General Diaouari further explained that President Traor set a clear course for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of processing more cotton domestically, clothing Burkinab¨ people with locally produced textiles, meeting the nation's strategic needs, and using industry as a tool for economic sovereignty. He underscored the President's active involvement throughout the project's development, noting that Traor followed the progress closely, demanded accountability, and ensured that the initiative was treated as a national priority.

Reflecting on the two-year journey to complete TEXFORCES-BF, General Diaouari described time as an adversary that needed to be overcome, stressing the necessity for the nation to accomplish in a few years what might otherwise take a decade. He credited the project's success to the combination of President Traor's vision and the determination of the teams involved.

General Diaouari concluded by emphasizing that the inauguration marked a significant moment for the nation, showcasing its capabilities and the will of a generation committed to building and serving. He noted that behind the industrial complex lies the unquantifiable will of a country determined to progress and achieve economic sovereignty.
