CEO of APEC Reassures Subscribers on SOBTO Operations

Ouagadougou: The CEO of APEC reassures subscribers about the operation of SOBTO: The Director General of the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC), Karim Traor, paid a visit to the Burkinabe Tomato Company (SOBTO) in Bobo-Dioulasso, where he reassured subscribers about the proper functioning of the community enterprise.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this visit was part of the ongoing monitoring of community-owned enterprises established under the Popular Shareholding scheme. It allowed the Director General of APEC to observe the operations of the processing unit and to note the availability of a significant stock of tomato paste intended to supply production.

"After the visit, I am very satisfied with the operation of the factory and I can reassure all subscribers that their factory is doing well," said Karim Traor, noting that he had observed the presence of more than a thousand drums of tomato paste stored on the site.

According to him, the operation of SOBTO is a concrete illustration of the results of Popular Shareholding. He praised the mobilization of the population through their subscriptions, which contribute to the financing and development of community enterprises.

The Managing Director of SOBTO, Adama Kabor, for his part, assured that the company has the necessary capacity to meet demand. "We have redoubled our efforts to reach the production level we have today. The available stock of canned tomatoes allows us to fulfill all orders," he explained.

He also invited distributors to increase marketing of the product. "We invite distributors to come and collect orders because we have a large stock," he said.

At the end of the visit, the Director General of APEC called on the people of Burkina Faso to continue their mobilization around subscriptions, in order to strengthen the investment capacities of the Agency and promote the creation of new community enterprises.
