Tourism Promotion Takes Center Stage in Boromo’s Municipal Consultation Framework

Ouagadougou: In an extraordinary session held at the town hall's reception hall, the statutory members of the Municipal Consultation Framework (CCC) and actors from the tourism and hotel sector gathered under the leadership of Comrade Isae Bamogo, President of the special delegation (PDS) of Boromo. The meeting aimed to highlight the tourism potential of the municipality and explore its prospects as a driver of local development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, stakeholders in Boromo's tourism sector underscored the importance of promoting the region's rich cultural and touristic heritage as a means for economic growth and social well-being. Isae Bamogo emphasized the focus on the hotel and tourism sectors, recognizing their significant role in job creation and economic development.

The meeting, which included two main presentations, sought to foster open dialogue and collaboration among municipal authorities to leverage tourism as a catalyst for economic progress. Seydou Bagagnan, the provincial director in charge of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism of Bal©, delivered the first presentation. He highlighted the area's attractions, such as the great forge of Ouroubono and the forests of the two Bal©, and proposed structuring projects across six key areas to enhance the municipality's appeal as a tourist destination.

Lansane Dao, President of the Federation of Tourism Actors of the Bankui region, presented a second communication focusing on the participation of a local delegation in the International Tourism and Hospitality Fair (SITHO) scheduled for later in the month. This initiative aims to further integrate Boromo into the broader tourism landscape of Burkina Faso.

Participants in the session expressed appreciation for the presentations and contributed additional ideas to position Boromo as a prominent tourist hub. They committed to implementing the session's conclusions actively, recognizing their roles as essential players in the sector.

The head of the municipality concluded the session by commending the quality of discussions and urging stakeholders to support the project responsibly, with the vision of establishing Boromo as a leading tourist showcase.
