Poni/loropni: The active forces of the commune of Loropni began, on September 10, 2026, a consultation with a view to mobilizing 35 million FCFA for the acquisition of a medicalized ambulance, equipped and adapted to the realities of local roads. The meeting, held in the town hall meeting room, aimed to define a strategy for mobilizing the resources needed to purchase an ambulance.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the special delegation of Loropni, Faon-Nignin¨ Jean Damasc¨ne Som, explained that this initiative follows the recurring difficulties in evacuating the sick. "The initiative arose in light of the difficulties related to evacuating patients to appropriate health centers for better care," he said.
The PDS further stated that the ambulance of the Health and Social Promotion Centre (CSPS) of Loropni, offered by the State in 2020, is now outdated and has been breaking down regularly for about two years. "With all the government's initiatives aimed at improving healthcare provision, it is essential that the population also join hands to support this dynamic through endogenous development," he said.
He specified that the municipality has 71 villages and 12 CSPS, for only one ambulance, a situation which justifies the mobilization of active forces for the acquisition of a new medical vehicle. The mobilization campaign, planned to last seven months, will rely on the contribution of the population and key stakeholders. "We must unite our efforts and resources, however modest, to improve access to healthcare," urged Comrade Som.
Following the consultation, the PDS also urged the population to mobilize for the construction and beautification of the commune through the presidential initiative Faso Mªbo.
