Ouagadougou: Around one hundred children trained in reading the Quran and the values of living together in Kongoussi: The Moyimbin mosque, in sector 4 of Kongoussi, closed its Islamic holiday courses on Saturday, at the end of 40 days of learning devoted to religious education, discipline and the values of living together.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the closing ceremony brought together local and customary authorities, including Naaba Kiba Dima of Rissiam and Datenga Naba Tigr, as well as delegations from the Muslim community from Ouagadougou and Nagrongo. In total, 100 children took part in this initiative, which allowed them to strengthen their knowledge of Islamic education through reading the Holy Quran and learning the hadiths.
The lessons also covered discipline, social cohesion and the values of living together in Burkina Faso. According to the organizer, Inoussa Sawadogo, known as "Zasco", these courses aim to take advantage of school holidays to contribute to the religious and social education of children. 'During the holidays, we choose a time to provide children with Islamic education, discipline, rules of living together and social cohesion. This year, 100 students, including 57 from CP1, 30 from CP2 and 17 from CE1, participated in these courses devoted to reading the Holy Quran, religious knowledge, civic education and interfaith living together,' he explained.
He praised the commitment of the students and teachers, while thanking the sponsors, parents and authorities for their support. On behalf of the sponsor, Salif Sawadogo, known as "Salif Bonda", El Hadj Karim Sawadogo congratulated the organizers and praised the mobilization of the residents of the neighborhood.
The ceremony was marked by demonstrations from the students, who presented to the audience the lessons learned during the 40 days of training. Student Rabiatou Sawadogo was delighted with her participation in the classes. "I learned to read the Quran and the hadiths," she said. As a reminder, each participant received a school kit consisting of a bag and supplies, worth 8,000 FCFA.
