Gnagna: The administrative and educational start of the academic year was officially launched this Tuesday in Bogand (Gnagna), setting the tone for a new school year under the sign of commitment and continuity.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the national colours flew in the courtyard of the Bantia public primary school to mark the start of the administrative and pedagogical year for preschool and primary school. The ceremony began with the raising of the colours, accompanied by the performance of the national anthem in gulmancma. Following this, the secretary general of the province of Gnagna, Mendien dit Moussa Soma, delivered the message of the High Commissioner Jean Baptiste Bogo.
In his message, the High Commissioner commended the performance achieved by education stakeholders during the past school year. In 2026, the Gnagna province recorded a 98.60% pass rate on the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP), 100% on the entrance exam for sixth grade, and 92.15% on the Non-Formal Education certification assessment. These results placed the Sirba region at the top of the national rankings for school examination results published by the Ministry of Basic Education, Literacy, and the Promotion of National Languages (MEBAPLN) for the 2026 session.
The High Commissioner invited education stakeholders to maintain this momentum and continue their efforts. The 2026-2027 school year will be marked by the widespread implementation of bilingualism and multilingualism in all first-grade classes (CP1), in accordance with the reforms undertaken by the Ministry of Education, Literacy, and National Languages (MEBAPLN).
