Houet: The Bien-€š¬…¡¬¦ tre private medical practice located in the Ygur district of Bobo-Dioulasso has been closed due to shortcomings. The municipal police of Bobo-Dioulasso proceeded, on Friday, September 11, 2026, to close the Cabinet m©dical Bien-€š¬…¡¬¦ tre, located in the Ygur district, for shortcomings noted by the competent services. The operation, led by Municipal Police Inspector and Director of Public Health and Urban Tranquility Police, Yaya Sr, comes after an initial visit by law enforcement on Thursday, September 10, 2026. "This closure follows requisitions from the municipal and health authorities," he explained.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the measures are primarily due to non-compliance with Joint Order No. 2006-111 concerning the classification and nomenclature of private healthcare facilities. Inspections carried out by the Regional Health Directorate revealed several deficiencies within the practice. These included the presence of a laboratory, a consultation room, a family planning service, and a pharmaceutical depot under conditions deemed non-compliant with the regulatory requirements applicable to private healthcare facilities.
The relevant authorities also noted hygiene and sanitation concerns, including the dilapidated state and difficult access of the latrines, as well as the presence of piles of garbage and dumpsites around the facility. Following the inspection, a closure order was issued. The Bien-€š¬…¡¬¦ tre Medical Clinic will remain closed until further notice, pending instructions from the competent authority.
Its reopening will be contingent upon consideration of the recommendations of the Regional Health Directorate and compliance with current regulatory requirements. Yaya Sr urged the owners of private healthcare facilities to adhere to health, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
