Ouagadougou: The opening match of the Maracana tournament, Dialgaye section of the Association for the Development of Kourittenga (APDK), saw FC Tenkodogo defeat FC Orpailleurs 2-1 on Monday, September 14, 2026, in the presence of the High Commissioner of the Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening match ceremony of the Maracana tournament, Dialgaye section, led by the Dialgaye municipal youth coordination, was attended by the High Commissioner of the Kourittenga province, Moctar Ilboudo.

This match, marking the start of the Maracana APDK/Dialgaye section tournament, pitted FC Tenkodogo against FC Orpailleurs, who prevailed with a score of 2 goals to 1.

The president of the Association for the Development of Kourittenga (APDK), Fran§ois Xavier Nikiema, who is also the promoter of the activity, said he was satisfied with the mobilization and the spirit of fair play observed, which constitute an essential part for the smooth running of this sporting activity.

"Beyond this sporting competition, this tournament also aims to be a framework for gathering and cohesion among the youth and especially for the entire community of the commune of Dialgaye," he said.

He indicated that through this initiative, APDK intends to support development efforts in the Kouritenga province, particularly in terms of social cohesion, solidarity, and living together.

The High Commissioner of the province of Kouritenga, Moctar Ilboudo, invited the youth to join forces and speak with one voice to contribute to the development of the commune of Dialgaye.
