Boulgou/bane: The Nakambe region's mission officer, Adama Kambone, visited the agricultural fields of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in Bane on Tuesday to ensure the receipt of inputs and seeds, to assess the progress of the crops, and to reaffirm the State's support for the producers.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this marked Comrade Kambone's second visit to these stakeholders, following his initial visit during their installation. This new mission allowed him to assess the state of the farms and reassure the VDP of the authorities' commitment to continuing their support.

'Of all the fields I visited in the region, those in Bane stand out,' he declared, praising the determination of these farmers. He expressed particular satisfaction with their commitment, which he considers a concrete contribution to the march towards food sovereignty.

The agricultural VDPs have developed 8.05 hectares, including 6 hectares of maize, 1 hectare of soybeans, 0.80 hectares of beans, and 0.25 hectares of okra.

During his visit, Adama Kambone also visited the village chief, whom he thanked for his assistance and support for the farmers' initiatives.

Madi Kere, head of the agricultural VDP in Bane, welcomed the visit and the government's concern. "We are happy," he said.

To consolidate this momentum and increase production, volunteers request, after the harvests, the development of fields, the drilling of boreholes, and the installation of fencing, with a view to developing off-season crops. This support should enable them to intensify and diversify their production in order to contribute more to the goal of food sovereignty.
