Bazega/ipelce: The population mobilized for the destruction of larval breeding sites: The populations of the commune of Ipelce, in the province of Bazega, mobilized on September 5 and 6, 2026 for a vast sanitation operation aimed in particular at destroying larval breeding grounds, as part of the second round of the National Vector Control Day (JNLAV).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation brought together conscripts from the mandatory Patriotic Immersion program, youth and women's associations, decentralized technical services, and traditional authorities. With the support of the quarrying company JOC-ER SA, nine trucks loaded with earth were mobilized to fill in puddles, particularly at the Ipelce market and several other sites in the municipality.

Equipped with rakes, shovels, brooms, and wheelbarrows, the participants proceeded to clean the market, fill in the puddles, collect used tires, and pull up weeds that could promote the proliferation of mosquitoes.

The president of the special delegation (PDS), Comrade N. Emeline Kiemtore/Bonkoungou, praised the commitment of the participants and invited the people to maintain their clean living environment and to continue sanitation actions on a daily basis.

This mobilization is part of actions to prevent vector-borne diseases, particularly malaria, through the reduction of larval breeding sites.
