Ouagadougou: The TEKSUM Association for Education in the Kouls region, in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Bam, celebrated the academic excellence of TEKSUM schools on Saturday in Kongoussi, through a day dedicated to the distinction of deserving students and teachers. The ceremony was presided over by the High Commissioner of Bam Province, Karim Oudraogo, in the presence of the Regional Director of Primary and Non-Formal Education of Kouls, Moussa Oudraogo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event gathered various education stakeholders in the province, including Adama Oudraogo, the representative of Per Tor TEKSUM in Burkina Faso. During the ceremony, students and teachers were recognized for their achievements. The best students received bicycles and school kits, while distinguished teachers were awarded tablets.
Per Tor TEKSUM's representative, Adama Sawadogo, emphasized that academic excellence is achieved through consistent effort, discipline, and a desire to improve. He congratulated the honored students and urged them to view their accomplishments as both a source of pride and a responsibility. Sawadogo stated, "Receiving an award is not an end in itself. It is a responsibility." He encouraged the awardees to remain humble and utilize their skills for the benefit of their community and the development of Burkina Faso.
The top student in the 2026 CEP exams from TEKSUM schools, Idrissa Oudraogo, hailed from the Vousnago school in the Guibar district. He expressed his gratitude to Per Tor TEKSUM and his teachers for their support and dedication.
DPEPPNF of Bam's representative, Djackaridja Sawadogo, congratulated all the winners and thanked TEKSUM for its educational support. Over two decades, Per Tor TEKSUM has invested more than one and a half billion CFA francs in the Bam region, constructing school complexes and training students and teachers in the communes of Guibar, Kongoussi, Bourzanga, Tikar, Rollo, and Zimtanga.
The academic results of TEKSUM schools reflect a steady improvement, with a CEP success rate rising from 96.06% in 2024 to 99.48% in 2025, achieving 100% in 2026 with all 231 candidates passing. TEKSUM students also achieved a 100% success rate in the BEPC exams in 2025 and 2026, and in the baccalaureate in 2026.
