Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of the Passor province, Daouda Sangar, has officially launched the 2026 Pedagogical Animation Days (JAP) in Yako, emphasizing the importance of fostering open and productive exchanges among teachers and supervisors. The event, which took place on September 16, 2026, aims at developing skills through vocational training and scientific and technological education as part of the broader educational reforms under the theme "Implementation of reforms in secondary education: development of skills through vocational training and scientific and technological education."
According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch ceremony featured a message from the Minister of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training (MESFPT), Moumouni Zoungrana, delivered by Comrade Sangar. The minister's message highlighted that the JAP 2026 is being held within a global context of renewing the educational system, guided by the Manifesto of the Popular Progressive Revolution. The event gathered educators and supervisors from all nine communes of the province, who were tasked with using the Animation Days as an opportunity for significant dialogue and development.
The JAP, known in French as "Journees d'Appui la Personnel de l'Enseignement Secondaire," aims to bolster teachers' capacities in light of the reforms spearheaded by the ministry. These reforms are designed to equip the nation with qualified human resources necessary for economic transformation, industrialization, and the pursuit of technological sovereignty, as stated by High Commissioner Daouda Sangar.
In addition to capacity building, the JAP seeks to establish a platform for exchange, consultation, and the collaborative creation of practical tools essential for the structural transformation of Burkina Faso's education system. Minister Zoungrana expressed his gratitude towards the teaching community, acknowledging the commendable academic achievements of the previous year.
Mimtiri Oualbogo, the provincial director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training (DPESFPT) of Passor, stressed the importance of these days as a chance for educators to embrace and commit to the ongoing educational reforms. He urged active participation in discussions, ensuring that teachers are well-informed about the reforms initiated by national leaders.
High Commissioner Sangar further encouraged the educational community to prioritize these professional development days and seized the occasion to remind participants of the safety mandate to wear helmets. The JAP 2026 is set to continue until September 18, 2026, across the national territory.
