Zorgho:The National Police have dismantled a network suspected of manufacturing fake driver's licenses in Zorgho as part of Operation "WIBGA 3".

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation led to several arrests following a security control mission conducted by the Zorgho Central Police Station. The investigation began when police noticed a driver's license with a background different from genuine documents. Upon questioning, the holder admitted to obtaining the license fraudulently.

Further investigations resulted in the arrest of additional network members. The main suspect was reportedly approaching individuals at kiosks or driving schools, offering to procure a driver's license within three days. The process required only a passport photo and a screenshot of the Burkinab National Identity Card (CNIB), with a charge of 200,000 CFA francs per application.

Documents were sent via WhatsApp to a neighboring country for processing, and the fake licenses were transported back to Burkina Faso using public transportation before being distributed to applicants.

This incident occurs amid ongoing traffic accidents in Burkina Faso. The National Police urge the public to follow official procedures for obtaining administrative documents and to report any suspicious activities to the toll-free numbers 17, 16, and 1010.
