Ouagadougou: The commune of Sapon hosted the first edition of civil-military activities called 'Zind-n-Tar' for 48 hours on September 19 and 20, 2026, with the aim of strengthening collaboration between civilians and the military.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Sports, health and social activities called "Zind-n-Tar" for perfect collaboration between the security forces and the civilian population of the commune.
The military authorities, in collaboration with the Sapon town hall, organized the first edition of the civil-military activities called Zind-n-Tar, under the theme: "Civil-military cohesion: building trust to better meet the security challenges and socio-economic development of the moment."
This first edition was marked by the organization of several sporting activities including women's cycling competitions, ptanque and maracana.
On the health front, medical examinations and screening tests were conducted for residents of the commune, with 307 people being tested for hepatitis B, hypertension, and diabetes.
At least 118 others received screenings for breast and cervical cancer.
In addition to these health initiatives, a blood drive collected approximately 40 units of blood for patients in the commune's health district.
As part of the social component of this edition, the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Sapon, K´ti Nol Sanou, received hygiene and sanitation equipment for the commune, including 30 large garbage cans and 20 office garbage cans, a contribution from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) of the commune.
The organization of this first edition of civil-military activities for cohesion and living together took place in a fraternal communion between civilian and military citizens, with the blessings of the canton chief of Sapon, Naaba Sigri.
Captain Relwend Compaor, representing the president of the ceremony, congratulated the administrative, customary and military authorities of the commune for organizing this activity.
He especially congratulated the security forces at the Sapon military camp for their involvement and commitment in the fight against terrorism.
According to Comrade Captain Compaor, "the fight against terrorism is not only a matter for the security forces but also involves the civilian population through prayers, intelligence, motivational actions and above all good collaboration."
He expressed wishes for good coexistence and mutual assistance between the civilian population and the security forces in the commune of Sapon and throughout Burkina Faso.
This edition was placed under the patronage of Brigadier General Thophile Nikiema, Commander of the Special and Rapid Intervention Brigade (BSIR) and the chairmanship of Comrade Commander Wonrbeba Basile Zongo, Director General of the National Society of Precious Substances (SONASP).
