Kaya:Authorities in the Kouls© region, along with non-governmental organizations, development associations, and technical and financial partners, commenced consultations in Kaya on Thursday. The aim is to better coordinate interventions that benefit the population and strengthen contributions to regional development.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting facilitated the mapping of non-state actors operating in the region, assessed their contributions, and identified challenges encountered on the ground. Currently, 547 NGOs, associations, and foundations work alongside the state in various sectors.
Bernadette Adenyo/Serme highlighted that this consultation provides a "privileged framework for dialogue between the State and its partners to improve the coherence of interventions, in accordance with government guidelines."
Moussa Sawadogo, the regional director of Economy and Planning, noted that the meeting serves as a springboard to promote stakeholder participation in implementing the 2024-2030 recovery plan, which is the regional development framework.
Discussions also addressed the need to adapt intervention methods to the security context and local realities. Recommendations were made to enhance the coordination of actions among social partners.
The acting governor, who presided over the meeting, urged stakeholders to strengthen their support for development efforts, particularly in the context of the gradual return of displaced people to their original localities.
