L©o:The "Point Final" resistance group celebrated its first anniversary on Friday, September 25, 2026, by organizing a series of social and civic activities in L©o. These included a road safety awareness campaign and a food donation to the Sissili Provincial Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (COPROSUR).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the group, established on September 25, 2025, commemorated the milestone with activities focused on civic engagement, solidarity, and culture. The event was attended by local authorities, with the official ceremony presided over by Baowindsida Bingo, Secretary General of the Sissili Province, representing High Commissioner T©wind© Isaac Sia.
In support of government road safety initiatives, Damien Sidib©, the founder of "Point Final," led an awareness campaign encouraging the use of helmets and seat belts. Initially planning to distribute 15 helmets, the initiative expanded due to high demand, resulting in the distribution of approximately 30 helmets to road users in need.
Sidib© explained that the recent focus on helmet use motivated their initiative, emphasizing their desire to contribute to government efforts. The day included a caravan and the distribution of helmets to local residents and customers.
The organization also showcased its commitment to social welfare by donating food supplies to COPROSUR, aimed at assisting vulnerable populations in the province. Sidib© highlighted the importance of sharing profits with those in need and expressed gratitude to security forces and authorities for their support.
Baowindsida Bingo, the provincial secretary general, praised these efforts and stressed the necessity of adhering to traffic regulations, noting the mandatory nature of helmet use for personal safety. He also assured that food donations would be distributed to those in need, with oversight by the provincial director of family and solidarity.
The anniversary celebrations also featured a p©tanque competition and a cultural evening with performances by artists and orchestras, highlighting the group's dedication to both civic duties and cultural enrichment.
