Ouargaye:Koulplogo: Team 6 emerged victorious in the final of the 2nd edition of the "Lagm-Taaba" Ouargaye Petanque Competition (CPLTO), held on Saturday at the Ouargaye Provincial High School grounds, defeating Team 1 with a score of 11 to 2.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the competition featured seven teams, competing in a friendly and fair-play environment. Ultimately, Teams 6 and 1 made it to the final showdown.
Demonstrating greater experience and efficiency, Team 6 dominated the match, securing the win with a decisive 11 to 1 score. Their victory earned them the trophy, three t-shirts, and 15,000 CFA francs. Overall, four of the seven participating teams received rewards.
The CPLTO's second edition was co-sponsored by Wendingoudi Justin Thiendrneogo, Provincial Director of Family and Solidarity of Koulplogo, and Issaka Wangr, a native of Ouargaye.
During the event, Moustapha Yangan, the acting Provincial Director of Sports, Youth and Employment, congratulated the competition's initiators and organizers. He expressed his readiness to support the establishment of a petanque club in Ouargaye, aligning with the initiative's goals.
Co-sponsor Wendingoudi Justin Thiendrneogo expressed his honor and pleasure in sponsoring the event, highlighting his personal enthusiasm for the sport. He commended all participants and praised the event's organization.
The competition was organized by the petanque club, in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of Sports, Youth and Employment of Koulplogo. It aims to promote petanque, provide a setting for relaxation and community interaction, and strengthen social cohesion.
The day concluded with a community meal for participants and guests.
