Agricultural VDP Field in Gaongo Shows Positive Outlook

Gaongo:Bazga: The agricultural VDP field in the commune of Gaongo is exhibiting a promising condition during the current rainy season.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) in Gaongo, located in the Nazinon region of Bazga province, have dedicated themselves to achieving food sovereignty by cultivating their field. Observations indicate that the agricultural plots are in good condition, suggesting favorable production prospects if maintenance efforts continue and essential conditions for crop growth are met.

This optimistic situation is contingent upon continued favorable weather and ongoing maintenance work. Administrative officials and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) have praised the agricultural VDP for their efforts and encouraged them to sustain their progress.

The VDP have expressed their commitment to enhancing agricultural production and contributing to food self-sufficiency. They noted that the rainy season began late this year and hope it will extend until mid-October to ensure a successful harvest.

Fieldwork by the agricultural VDP commenced in mid-June, focusing on maize and white sorghum cultivation. Overall, the season in the commune is progressing well, with crops showing a healthy appearance. Koanda Issaka, the president of the agricultural VDP, remains hopeful for a good harvest if the rains continue as expected.
