Fada N'Gourma:The annual conference for school principals and staff from post-primary and secondary education sectors in the provinces of Gourma, Kompienga, and Komondjari concluded with a call for greater involvement in educational reforms.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference, held over 72 hours, centered on reforms in secondary education, particularly in skills development for vocational training and the promotion of scientific and technological education. Attendees participated in presentations and discussions, leading to resolutions aimed at facilitating the implementation of these reforms in schools.
Abdoulaye Zall, principal of the Kupiendieli regional vocational high school in Fada N'Gourma, noted that the meeting provided school leaders with a better understanding of their roles in executing the ongoing reforms. Zall emphasized the importance of strengthening training for school officials, especially in general education institutions, due to a lack of mastery in technical and vocational education streams.
Silas Nacanabo, the High Commissioner of the Gourma province, praised participants for their resilience despite organizational challenges during the conference. He encouraged continued commitment to their roles, irrespective of working conditions.
Gabriel Sawadogo, the regional director of post-primary, secondary, and vocational and technical education in Goulmou, called on school leaders to intensify their efforts and prioritize learners' interests. Participants are now tasked with implementing the conference's outcomes in their respective institutions.
