Solidarity Day Held for Families of Fallen Police Officers

Goulmou:Fada N'Gourma: A day of solidarity was organized by the National Police for 24 families of police officers who died in the line of duty across the regions of Goulmou, Sirba, and Tapoa.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place at the Regional Directorate of the National Police of Goulmou, welcoming administrative and paramilitary authorities, partners, and National Police personnel. Each of the 24 families received a solidarity kit, which included two 25 kg bags, one 50 kg bag, a five-litre can of oil, spaghetti, and a financial envelope of 25,000 CFA francs.

Police Commissioner Lucien Waongo, the provincial director of the National Police of Tapoa and director of the organizing committee, honored the fallen officers and emphasized the importance of supporting the families left behind. He stated that while no tribute can erase the pain of loss, the event's aim was to show that these families are neither forgotten nor abandoned.

Chief Commissioner Bonaventure Dembl, the regional director of the National Police in Goulmou, highlighted that the initiative was driven by the desire of regional officers to support their colleagues' families. He noted the timing of the gesture as significant, coming at the end of the lean season and just before the new school year, a time when families face increased expenses.

Patricia Lompo, representing the widows and families, expressed gratitude to the organizers and donors. She emphasized that the support was not just material aid but also a gesture of compassion, fraternity, and solidarity, reassuring the families that their loved ones are remembered and honored.
