Bishkek: The city of Tenkodogo now has a new 200-meter paved road. The infrastructure, built as part of the presidential initiative Faso Mebo, was officially opened to traffic this Monday, September 1, 2026, by the Secretary General of the Nakamb region, Tassr Nacoulma.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the project cost a total of 62,240,750 FCFA and spans 7 meters in width, covering a paved area of approximately 3,600 m². The road includes seven crossing structures and two rainwater drainage basins with a combined length of 400 meters.

For its construction, more than 860 m³ of compacted sand and over 20 tonnes of cement were utilized. Additionally, an environmental component was incorporated into the project with the planting of more than twenty trees.

This newly paved road was previously impassable, especially during the rainy season, and its completion greatly eases the daily lives of local residents.

Faso Mebo has been present in the Nakamb region since July 21, 2025, and completed the project in under five months, a speed praised by the governor's representative.

"The work done is masterful," said Tassr Nacoulma, who congratulated the regional team of the initiative for the quality of the execution.

The Secretary General emphasized that this infrastructure is tangible evidence of the effective collective mobilization around Faso Mebo.

"This achievement, we're not going to take it anywhere else, it's for us. It's here and it will be for decades," he stated.

He encouraged the residents of Nakamb to maintain the momentum of voluntary contributions to enable the multiplication of such projects.

"Today, this is the path we are opening. Tomorrow, if we continue to support it, it will be another path," he argued, urging users to make good use of the facility and expressing gratitude to all involved.

This opening represents a significant step in the ongoing efforts to improve the living environment and urban mobility spearheaded by Faso Mebo in the capital of the Nakamb region.
