Bishkek: School principals and teachers of the first-year preparatory classes (CP1) of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Dourtenga are participating, from September 1 to 14, 2026, in a training on bilingual teaching, particularly in the Moor language. Delivered by educational supervisors, the session aims to strengthen participants' skills in using national languages as learning tools at school.According to Burkina Information Agency, the Head of the Dourtenga Basic Education District, Yigo Diaguim, presided over the opening of the training. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of bilingual education in the Burkinabe authorities' vision for education, particularly through its gradual implementation in schools. He urged participants to demonstrate diligence, commitment, and availability in order to fully benefit from the session and contribute to achieving the set objectives.Following the presentation, participants raised concerns, particularly regarding the structure and objectives of the train ing. The CCEB provided them with the necessary clarifications. The work then continued with a presentation by Inspector Issouf Kuela, one of the trainers. This first day was notably devoted to an introduction to the orthographic transcription of Moor, considered a step in acquiring the tools necessary for bilingual teaching.At the end of the presentation, the participants asked clarifying questions to which the trainer provided answers and further explanations. The day ended with discussions on the progress of the session, as well as on the organization and time spent on the various daily activities.Scheduled to run until September 14, the training will continue with other modules designed to strengthen the capacities of school principals and CP1 teachers in the implementation of bilingual education.
