Kagambga FC Triumphs in Maracana United Youth Cup with Community Support

Pouytenga:Kagambga FC emerged victorious in the Maracana United Youth Cup held in Pouytenga, overcoming Nonsraaga FC in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regulation time. The event took place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Naaba Bougoum field.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the victorious Kagambga FC secured a 2-0 win in penalties, claiming the trophy and a cash prize of one million CFA francs. Nonsraaga FC, as runners-up, received five hundred thousand CFA francs. The tournament was attended by the Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, and was sponsored by El Hadj Latif Koutou, CEO of Burkina Transit International.

The Minister of Security highlighted the significance of the event in promoting national unity and praised the sacrifices made for national security, allowing the competition to occur. He commended the participants for their sportsmanship and thanked the organizing committee and other stakeholders for their contributions to the successful 22nd edition of the tournament.

El Hadj Latif Koutou, the event's sponsor, donated a borehole to Tangazoungou primary school and financial contributions to two teachers, recognizing their dedication. He emphasized the importance of social cohesion, patriotism, and resilience, themes at the heart of the tournament. His support was also motivated by personal connections to the area and his commitment to fostering youth development and community well-being.

Koutou's contributions aimed to enhance educational conditions by ensuring access to clean water and supporting educators. He encouraged the youth to remain united and committed to building a prosperous and resilient Burkina Faso, underscoring their role in shaping the country's future.

Organizing committee chairman Moumouni Oudraogo highlighted the strong public engagement and fair play exhibited during the matches, affirming the competition's objectives were successfully achieved.
