Bittou:The Youth Association for Sport and Leisure (AJSL) held the final of the Under-17 football cup on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Bittou multi-sports stadium. The event was dedicated to promoting peace, social cohesion, and community togetherness.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was led by Mohamed Lamine Diabat, President of the special delegation of Bittou. The event saw strong participation from local customary leaders, administrative authorities, the president of the Nakamb football league, and numerous supporters.
The final match featured Dakou Dakou FC and Dakouhan FC. After an intense game, the teams were tied, but Dakou Dakou FC ultimately won 5-4 in a penalty shootout, claiming the trophy.
The AJSL organized this event to foster peace and social cohesion in Bittou, offering young people, particularly those involved in gold mining, constructive and educational activities. Gomogo Fatao, president of the organizing committee, highlighted the aim of the competition to reduce youth exposure to drug use and provide them with healthy alternatives.
Comrade Gomogo expressed appreciation for the robust support from administrative authorities and traditional leaders, crediting their involvement for the successful ceremony.
The victorious team received a trophy, 150,000 FCFA, jerseys, and two balls. The runners-up were awarded 100,000 FCFA, jerseys, and two balls, while the third-place team earned 50,000 FCFA, jerseys, and two balls.
Mohamed Lamine Diabat commended AJSL's dedication to youth and urged continued efforts to reinforce peace and community spirit. He encouraged young people to actively engage in local development. Moussa Galbane, captain of the winning team, celebrated their consecutive victory in the AJSL Cup and praised their opponents for their sportsmanship.
