Kadiogo:A public conference dedicated to the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education for All (IPEQ) was organized by the Planet of Pan-Africanist Youth, Kadiogo section, urging participants to use education as a tool for development, sovereignty, and emancipation in Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Cyriaque Poda, the regional coordinator, emphasized the importance of dialogue and concrete proposals to address educational challenges for a sovereign Burkina Faso. He highlighted the necessity of considering the entire educational continuum, including literacy, non-formal education, and national language promotion.
The organizers underscored that quality education is a shared responsibility involving the State, educators, parents, local authorities, communities, partners, and the youth. The conference concluded with a call to position education as a means of achieving sovereignty, social cohesion, and national development.
The event was attended by educational officials, traditional and religious leaders, young people, and various guests. Dr. Oudan Jean No«l Tagnabou, representing the Minister of Basic Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages, stressed that education encompasses more than just infrastructure and diplomas. He advocated for an educational system fostering competent, responsible citizens who are culturally rooted and capable of contributing to the nation's transformation.
Issaka Tapsoba, the deputy to the People's Legislative Assembly and sponsor of the ceremony, reiterated the IPEQ's five-year structure and seven components. He called for collective mobilization to ensure the initiative's success, emphasizing the need for an educated youth committed to building a sovereign and prosperous Burkina Faso.
