Kindi:The residents of the commune of Kindi gathered in large numbers on Saturday, October 4, to participate in the third round of the vector control campaign aimed at combating mosquito breeding.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation was led by Yacouba Soro, the Secretary General of the town hall, who represented the President of the Special Delegation (PDS). The campaign involved various groups within the municipality, including the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), citizen watch groups, the medical corps, and other municipal agents.
Despite challenging conditions, particularly due to the weather, women from Kindi participated enthusiastically, highlighting their commitment to tackling malaria. Traditional chiefs also supported the initiative, which fostered a sense of unity and patriotism among the participants.
Equipped with tools like shovels and rakes, participants worked methodically to clean stagnant water points, remove garbage, and clear away used tires, all identified as mosquito breeding sites. By the end of the campaign, Yacouba Soro expressed his satisfaction with the efforts and encouraged the community to maintain cleanliness to combat malaria effectively.
A follow-up meeting is planned in the coming days to build on the successful efforts of this campaign and continue the fight against malaria across the municipality.
