Bama:A conference was held by the Bama Youth Listening and Dialogue Center (CEDPJ) to raise awareness among 70 young people and women about the risks of violent extremism and radicalization, alongside promoting the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place on Friday, October 9, 2026, and was chaired by Flix Bay, president of the special delegation of Bama. It featured contributions from Didier Oscar Amos Kinane and Soumaïla Koussoub, officers from the municipality's Referent-Opportunities-Integration (ROPI) team.
The conference aimed to equip attendees with knowledge to prevent behaviors that threaten social cohesion, emphasizing the importance of listening, dialogue, and civic engagement. Presentations highlighted the significance of the RPP, led by Burkina Faso's President Captain Ibrahim Traor, and its role in community development.
Participants, including student Neimantou Sawadogo, expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting it provided clarity on the RPP's ideology, objectives, and their personal roles in supporting the revolution. Sawadogo also identified poor governance, injustice, and impunity as factors contributing to violent extremism and radicalization.
The CEDPJ of Bama intends this initiative to foster civic awareness and strengthen the commitment of young people and women to create a peaceful, responsible community that supports sustainable local development.
