Eighty-Eight Individuals Enrolled for Biometric ID Cards in Tchriba

Tchriba:Mouhoun Eighty-eight people were enrolled in Tchriba as part of a special operation to establish the biometric identity card of the Confederation of Sahel States (CIB AES). This initiative, held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, was organized by the special municipal delegation in partnership with the regional branch of the National Identification Office (ONI) of Bankui.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation coincided with the annual teachers' conference and aimed to make the services of the National Identification Office more accessible to educators and the general public, facilitating access to the new biometric identity card.

Siaka Bako, head of the ONI regional office in Bankui and Sourou, stated that the initiative also enables educational staff to benefit from technological advancements in the identification process. The ONI services in Ddougou have been equipped with new biometric equipment to enhance data processing and expedite card issuance.

This first operation in the municipality successfully registered 88 individuals without any application rejections. However, due to time constraints, several people were unable to register, highlighting the public's eagerness to obtain the CIB AES biometric identity card.

After the operation, the ONI team returned to Ddougou, with plans for another intervention in Tchriba. The villages of Bissanderou and Tikan have shown interest in mobilizing more candidates for future campaigns.

Local residents, supported by municipal authorities, are advocating for an extended stay of ONI agents in the municipality and a subsidy to reduce card costs, thereby increasing accessibility for a larger number of people.
