Koumbia Prefect Urges Support for Local Products to Boost Economic Sovereignty

Koumbia:Boukary Zono, the Prefect of the Koumbia Department, has urged the local population to prioritize purchasing local products to enhance Burkina Faso's economic sovereignty. This appeal was made during a national flag-raising ceremony at the Koumbia Departmental High School, part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was attended by departmental and municipal service heads, along with prominent community figures. This ceremony is part of the second phase of the third edition of the JEPPC, themed "Let's produce Burkinabe, let's consume Burkinabe!"

During the ceremony, Prefect Zono delivered a message from the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, urging citizens to make consuming national products a patriotic commitment. President Traore's slogan "All for Made in Burkina let's make every purchase an act of sovereignty!" underscores the push for national production and the local consumption of goods and services.

The President's message highlights the importance of production, processing, and consumption of local products. He calls on citizens to support Burkinabe producers, artisans, processors, and traders, and to combat fraud and smuggling which undermine the national economy.
