Malaria Prevention Campaign Concludes Successfully in Satiri

Satiri:The 2026 seasonal malaria chemoprevention (CPS+) campaign concluded in the commune of Satiri on Sunday, October 18, 2026, after five visits aimed at preventing malaria in children. The campaign's outcomes were described as encouraging by Bou Dabou, the head nurse of the Satiri Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the campaign involved five distribution points, labeled P0 through P4, as part of efforts to combat malaria during the peak transmission period. Bou Dabou praised the dedication of community distributors and the support from municipal, administrative, traditional, and religious leaders, which facilitated the successful implementation of the campaign activities.

The head nurse thanked all participants and encouraged parents to keep their homes clean and enhance malaria prevention measures, including the regular use of insecticide-treated bed nets. Parents were urged to continue their efforts to protect children from malaria.

The initiative was well-received by the community. Sita Sanou, a mother, expressed her appreciation for the government's health initiative, saying, "I can only thank the government for this gesture. Thanks to the CPS+, my children did not contract malaria this year." She advised other parents to trust healthcare workers and adhere to their guidance, particularly concerning the free preventive medications provided by the CPS+ program, which aims to lower the risk of malaria in children during the high transmission season.
