APEC Steps Up Subscription Campaign Efforts in Ouargaye

Ouargaye:The Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) has heightened its subscription campaign efforts in Ouargaye on October 21 and 22. The initiative was launched to encourage local engagement, particularly from the vital forces and health personnel of the commune, under the supervision of the Presidency of Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the campaign was marked by significant events, including a meeting at the Ouargaye town hall on October 21. During this meeting, APEC's provincial representative in Koulplogo, Wenekont zchiel Oubda, addressed civil society and provincial authorities to emphasize the importance of the initiative.

The campaign continued on October 22 with a dedicated session held within the health district to further explain the subscription details to health personnel. Comrade Oubda outlined the project's goal to mobilize popular savings for building national companies, creating jobs, and ensuring the country's food and economic sovereignty.

To persuade participants, Oubda cited APEC's achievements, including the Burkinabe Tomato Company and processing plants in Yako and Tenkodogo, as well as a semi-industrial gold plant under construction in Bielmera. These efforts highlight APEC's commitment to strategic sectors such as agriculture, livestock farming, industry, mining, and textiles.

Participants were informed about the practicalities of this financing model, which requires a membership fee of 5,000 FCFA and a minimum share of 10,000 FCFA, with no limit on the number of shares one can purchase. As the first phase nears its end in October, subscribers have been provided with various payment options, including bank transfers, mobile money services, and international transfers.

The discussions also addressed concerns about company profitability, fund management, and dividend distribution. Encouraged by the initiative, Dr. Marou Nikiema, the chief medical officer of the health district, subscribed to the initiative on October 22, setting an example for his colleagues.
