Hamado Dipama Donates 2,000 Euros to Thomas Sankara Memorial Project

Rome:Burkinabe speaker Hamado Dipama has donated 2,000 euros, equivalent to approximately 1,310,000 CFA francs, to the "My Brick for Thomas Sankara" project coordinator in Rome. This contribution is intended for the construction of a memorial dedicated to Thomas Sankara, the Father of the Burkinabe Revolution. Dipama had previously donated 1,200 euros to the cause.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation was made during the tribute and celebration days dedicated to Thomas Sankara in Rome, which included activities around the Thomas Sankara park. The funds were raised following a conference led by Dipama in Munich, Germany, on the theme "Thomas Sankara and the current Revolution, i.e. the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP)."

During the conference, Dipama presented the memorial construction project to the attendees. Inspired by the initiative, the participants voluntarily contributed, raising a total of 2,000 euros. This was Dipama's second fundraising effort for the memorial, with a previous campaign raising 1,200 euros.

Dipama noted that the mobilization among the European public indicates a strong interest in Thomas Sankara's legacy and the pan-Africanist ideals he championed. The Munich Working Group for Pan-Africanism, of which Dipama is a member, serves as a platform for dialogue and exchange, focusing on pan-Africanism, combating racism, and fostering relations between different communities.
