Kaya:A mass was held at the Kaya military cemetery to honor the deceased Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) as part of the 66th anniversary of the National Armed Forces (FAN). The event, organized by the military chaplaincy of the first military region, aimed to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in combat and to pray for peace in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Father Roger Bamogo, the military chaplain and parish priest of Saint-Martin-de-Tours. The ceremony included a blessing of the graves and was attended by military personnel, paramilitaries, VDP, and civilian faithful who gathered to honor the fallen fighters.

Father Roger Bamogo emphasized the importance of remembering those who died in service, stating, "It is a duty to remember our fighting forces who unfortunately fell with weapons in hand." He highlighted that the tribute extends to all deceased members of the security forces and volunteers, acknowledging their sacrifices for the nation.

In his homily, Father Bamogo called on the faithful to foster love, mercy, and solidarity, reminding them that, in the Christian faith, death does not sever the bonds between people. He urged the fighting forces to demonstrate their faith through acts of brotherhood and service to others.
