Zabré High School Receives Equipment Donation from Minister Yacouba Zabré Gouba

Zabré:The staff of the Zabré departmental high school, along with the parents of students, convened for an extraordinary general meeting focused on evaluating the efforts for rehabilitating and equipping the institution.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting provided an opportunity for school officials to present the equipment donated by Yacouba Zabré Gouba, the Minister of Energy, Mines, and Quarries, who is a native of Zabré. The donation included 181 table-benches, 5 master desks, and 30 master chairs, fully covering the school's furniture needs.

The headmaster, Adama Dindané, expressed gratitude to the minister, noting that the donation came in response to a solidarity call made on September 28, 2026, aimed at rallying support for the high school's rehabilitation. During the meeting, other contributions were also acknowledged, including 313,000 FCFA from the first graduating class and 50,000 FCFA from Yabré Harouna, a Zabré native residing in Gabon.

Looking ahead, the headmaster highlighted that future donations would focus on other pressing needs of the institution, such as repairing the library roof damaged on May 15, 2025, addressing leaks in the administrative building, fixing cracks in the staff room, renovating the school's original building, and constructing a fence.

During the discussions, Yinyassa Luc Gouba praised the community's support and suggested forming an association to better mobilize the Zabré diaspora. He also advised consulting municipal authorities to define the school's boundaries before starting the fence construction.

The chairman of the school council, Boureima Gouba, commended the parents' involvement and encouraged their continued participation in school activities. This assembly served as a midpoint review of the mobilization efforts for the high school and helped in identifying priorities for future actions.
