Sissili/Communal Landscapes: A discussion meeting on the establishment of the complaints management mechanism

The Citizenship Lab, in partnership with the Léo town hall, organized on Friday June 26, 2024 in Léo, a discussion meeting on the establishment of the complaints management mechanism for municipal landscapes. This meeting was chaired by the president of the special delegation of the commune, Kassoum Koalaga .In addition to members of the special delegation from the commune of Léo, this meeting was also attended by customary and religious leaders, youth associations as well as people living with disabilities and women's organizations.According to the organizers, this meeting is part of the implementation of the Communal Landscape Management Project for the reduction of emissions due to deforestation and forest degradation (PGPC/Reed+).It aims to support the 30 partner municipalities, including that of Léo, to each have a reliable, accessible, effective and adapted mechanism for managing complaints.The president of the special delegation of the commune of Léo, Kassoum Koalaga indicated that the project is being implemented in a context of decentralized management of natural resources.For Mr. Koalaga, the complaint management mechanism, one of the approaches popularized by the World Bank, is to encourage and encourage the involvement of citizens in the various processes of participation in the management of natural resources.During the discussions, the participants became familiar with some key concepts related to the complaints management mechanism.They have appropriated the objectives and fundamental principles of the management mechanism, the circuit and the time limit for processing a complaint.They also had information on the composition, attributions/roles and mode of operation of the municipal complaints management committee (CCGP) and the procedures for managing non-sensitive and sensitive complaints.The CCGP members were then designated.
