Dori: The Bishop of Dori, Mgr Laurent Bifioré Dabiré, ordained on Saturday, at the Sainte Anne Cathedral of Dori, the priests Patrickmary A. Dike and Daniel Madiéga, in the presence of the Grand Imam of Dori , El Hadj Mamoudou Yaya Cissé.This ordination took place in the presence of numerous Catholic faithful from throughout the diocese of Dori, relatives and friends of the newly elected officials, administrative authorities and representatives of the Muslim community.According to Monsignor Laurent Bifioré Dabiré, the mission of the priest is to be the ambassador of Christ to announce the good news, justice, peace and reconciliation between men.Listening to the prelate, the priest's role and responsibility through his preaching is to bring together the scattered children of God into one family.Monsignor Dabiré added that social cohesion finds its roots in God's project.In the advice he gave to new priests, the man of God said that in the Sahel one must be energetic, welcoming, courageous and resili ent to face the constraints of the environment.In the same vein, the Grand Imam of Dori, Mamoudou Yaya Cissé urged them to be vectors of peace, social cohesion and interreligious dialogue.The governor of the Sahel region, Lieutenant-Colonel Fabien Rodolphe Sorgho, wished them a very successful career as priests, so that they could serve the Nation and the Catholic Church.As the lucky ones elected of the day, the two new priests showed their gratitude to God, to their parents and friends and to their trainers.They promised to serve and faithfully accomplish their priestly mission.Source: Burkina Information Agency
