The technological innovation 'e-laafi' which allows better care of patients in the different hospitals in Burkina through the reduction of medical errors and the sharing of data, was presented in Morocco during the first regional edition of 'Seeds for the Future'.The first regional edition of 'Seeds for the Future' officially ended on Monday July 8 in Essaouira, Morocco, with the announcement of the results of the Tech4Good competition and the delivery of certificates to participants.After a week of learning and coaching, each country worked on an innovative project which was presented to the jury for appreciation.The Burkinabè team produced a project whose quality was recognized by the jury and all the mentors.This is a technological innovation called 'e-laafi', which should allow better care of patients in the different hospitals in Burkina through the reduction of medical errors and the sharing of data.'I am convinced that if this project is implemented, it will contribute to improving the health of our populations,' said Cheick Tidiane Compaoré, one of the Burkinabè participants in the forum.For him, 'Seeds for the Future' was an enriching experience. 'I learned a lot about ICT and digital innovation. I met high-level professors and experts with whom I had very instructive discussions,' rejoiced the young Compaoré.According to him, this experience allowed him to understand that Africa needs innovative projects in order to no longer depend on external aid.Issoufou Nikièma, doctoral student in Artificial Intelligence at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University, was able to strengthen his skills in setting up projects and business plans.'These are concepts that are not new, but that we had the chance to explore in depth during this week,' he appreciated.He also praised the networking that was born between the participants in the Essaouira meeting.'We had young people from various African countries, and this allowed us to forge links which, I am convinced, will be useful to us in the future,' he said.Dés iré Dao, another Burkinabè participant, said he acquired more leadership knowledge thanks to this Huawei Northern Africa initiative.'We had to work together and that strengthened our team spirit,' he confided.Having never left Burkina Faso territory, 'Seeds for the Future' was also an opportunity for the computer science student at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University to discover Morocco and its Culture.It is therefore a complete training program that the eight young Burkinabè people were entitled to, to the great pleasure of the representative of the Ministry of Digital Transition of Burkina Faso, Dr Pousséni Bakouan.'We are grateful to Huawei for this opportunity which allowed young people to strengthen their technological and entrepreneurial skills,' he said.He invited the participants to continue to cultivate excellence in order to be true digital ambassadors in Burkina Faso and Africa.Finally, Morocco and Ethiopia will participate in the global final of the Tech4Good competition in 2025 in China.This was decided by the jury composed of eminent experts after analyzing the 28 projects submitted to them by participants in the first regional edition of 'Seeds for the Future', held from July 3 to 8, 2024 in Essaouira, Morocco.Source: Burkina Information Agency
