The initiative association for the resilience and empowerment of rural women (IRAF), planted, on Saturday August 24, 2024, 200 plants on the site of public primary school B of Bascorma, village located in the commune of Tougo, province of Zondoma.A total of 200 plants composed of neem, eucalyptus, mango trees and 100 baobabs intended for women, which were planted on Saturday August 24, 2024, at school B in Bascorma.Reforestation organized by the initiative association for the resilience and empowerment of rural women (IRAF), meets the crucial needs of the population of Bascorma.Its objective is to allow students and teachers to work in an appropriate environment while combating desertification.In addition to reforestation, the association trained 150 women in the manufacture of liquid soap and educated 300 people on the dangers of dengue and malaria, which threaten public health in the region.For the president of IRAF, Aminata Ouédraogo, the training aims to provide women with the necessary skills to develop their income-generating activities.According to her, the various activities are part of a broader vision of improving the living conditions of populations, by responding to immediate needs.'They make it possible to chart the path to a resilient and sustainable future for the entire municipality,' said Aminata Ouédraogo.The IRAF has set itself the objective of planting 1,000 trees, including 300 baobabs and 200 fruit trees, in the village of Bascorma, by 2027.The Initiative for the Resilience and Empowerment of Rural Women (IRAF) is a non-profit association whose objective is to strengthen the resilience of rural women and contribute to their socio-economic integration.Source: Burkina Information Agency
