Russia will continue to provide humanitarian and food aid to Burkina Faso, both on a bilateral basis and through the UN, according to a statement by the Russian government issued following the meeting of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak with Burkinabe Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachim Kyélem de Tambèla.This involves the supply of cereals as well as medicines and equipment to combat epidemics. The two interlocutors discussed trade and economic cooperation, interaction in the field of mining, energy and peaceful nuclear energy, as well as in the financial and banking sector. As the government emphasizes, the trade turnover between Russia and Burkina Faso increased fivefold in January-July 2024 compared to the same period last year."We have similar approaches to major international and regional problems, including the idea of ??forming a polycentric world. This is a good basis for interaction within the UN and on other multilateral platforms. Expanding cooperation between our countries in the spheres of trade, economy and investment is one of the most important tasks," Novak was quoted as saying in the statement.Source: Burkina Information Agency
