Centre-Nord: Journalists invited to promote cultural and tourist potential. The Regional Directorate of Communication and Media of the Center-North organized, on Friday, October 25, 2024 in Kaya, a consultation framework for media actors of Sanmatenga.According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative aimed to mobilize journalists and radio hosts from the province of Sanmatenga under the theme "Promotion of cultural and tourist potential: guarantee of economic growth and better living together." The Regional Director of Communication and Media for the Centre-North, Wenceslas Yoni, emphasized the importance of media personnel in promoting and enhancing the local cultural and tourist resources.Mr. Yoni stressed that culture is a fundamental pillar of society, providing solutions to issues related to social cohesion and peaceful coexistence. He urged media professionals to contribute significantly to restoring peace in Faso.The Regional Director of Culture, Arts and Tourism of the Centre-North, Safia ta Sorgho/Oubda, highlighted the importance of the gathering, describing it as an opportunity for the culture and tourism sectors. The communication presented by the Provincial Director of Culture, Arts and Tourism of Sanmatenga, Ousséni Adama Ouédraogo, focused on the region's tangible and intangible cultural heritage and the challenges faced by the sector amidst security and humanitarian crises.The Provincial Director expressed the desire for all stakeholders to be actively involved in promoting culture and tourism, both in the province and nationally. He noted that media professionals, being at the forefront of information dissemination and awareness, have a critical role in promoting local cultural and tourist assets.The event was positively received by media professionals, who committed to fostering awareness among the population for the growth of the culture and tourism sectors in the Centre-North. Issaka Sawadogo, from the digital media El Tv, expressed his commitment by stating, "We have learned a lot in terms of the cultural and tourist potential of our region. And we will invest more in promoting them for social cohesion and peace."
