Burkinabe Coalition Advocates for Revitalization of Amazons of Peace.

Centre-East: The Burkinabe Coalition for Women's Rights (CBDF), with funding from the Netherlands Institute for Democracy, organized a meeting at the High Commission in Tenkodogo aimed at revitalizing the Amazons of Peace cell in the Boulgou province. The event was designed to support young women and girls in Tenkodogo in their efforts to rejuvenate this organization, which focuses on resolving community conflicts.According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting sought the backing of administrative, customary, and religious leaders to help the Boulgou cell, currently inactive, become operational again. The event featured calls for firm commitments to involve the Amazons in fostering peace and social cohesion.Constantin D. Dabiré, the High Commissioner of Boulgou province, chaired the meeting. He pledged to hold a working session with cell members in the coming week to address the organization's challenges and necessities. Meanwhile, the Dimteng-Naaba, representative of His Majesty the Naaba Guiguempol é, expressed the King of Tenkodogo's support for initiatives involving women in peacebuilding and conflict management.Latifatou Sana, president of the Amazons of Peace cell, noted that the advocacy meeting yielded a positive response from the authorities, marking a step forward in their mission to promote peace in the community.
