Burkina Faso Volunteer Groups Launch Sweeping Operation to Enhance Sanitation.

Burkina Faso: The Public Interest Group-National Volunteer Program in Burkina Faso (GIP-PNVB), in collaboration with the National Office of Major Projects of Burkina (BN-GPB), is spearheading a voluntary sweeping operation across three regions of the country. This initiative aims to improve sanitation and hygiene in local communities.According to Burkina Information Agency, the general director of GIP-PNVB, Djourmité Nestor Noufé, stated that this civic action aligns with the Presidential Initiative for Community Development. Mr. Noufé emphasized that the project seeks to promote eco-citizenship by educating communities about the dangers of environmental degradation and enhancing living conditions.The program will include several activities, notably awareness sessions to instill core values such as volunteering, civic-mindedness, citizenship, patriotism, and unity. Scheduled activities will commence from November 16 to 18, 2024, in Gaoua, South-West region; from November 25 to 27, 2024, in Banfora, Cascad es region; and from November 29 to December 1 in Bobo Dioulasso, Hauts-bassins region.A total of 700 volunteers will participate in this inaugural phase, with plans to expand the initiative nationwide in future editions.
