Ouagadougou: The organizing committee of the second edition of the Sambla Cultural Day announced on Friday that the event will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the National Museum in Ouagadougou.According to Burkina Information Agency, the Seemogobê Association, which initiated the day, stated that the 2025 edition will be held under the theme "Challenges of Safeguarding and Promoting the Seenku Language." The event is set to take place within the National Museum in the Burkinabe capital.The president of the organizing committee, Ga Sylvie Traoré, expressed that the day aims to promote Sambla culture both in Burkina Faso and abroad. Speaking during a press conference on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Ouagadougou, Ms. Traoré highlighted the event's goal to foster social cohesion and intercultural dialogue among different communities.This edition will serve as a platform for reunions within the community and as a space for transmitting Sambla know-how. Activities on the day's program include thematic pane ls, performances by traditional Sambla dance troupes, tastings of local dishes, and exhibitions of cultural objects.The event is organized under the patronage of the Minister of Literacy and chaired by the Minister of Civil Service. It is sponsored by Gossiritio Daouda Traoré, the CEO of ESA Service Immobilier. The Sambla are a community primarily residing in the department of Karangasso-Sambla, within the province of Houet in the Hauts-Bassins region.
