Gourma: The president of the Fada N'Gourma High Court, N. Sosth¨ne Lou©, presided over the official opening ceremony of the special "Empty Lockers" hearings in his administrative jurisdiction on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. These special hearings, scheduled for April 15-19, 2025, will examine more than 212 cases.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening of the special "Empty Records" hearings of the Burkinabe justice system takes place in a context where the State's vision is to raise awareness among litigants while making the actions of the judicial system accessible and visible. The president of the special operation, N. Sosth¨ne Lou©, stated that during this special operation, more than 212 criminal cases will be decided in 09 hearings at various locations including the function room of the town hall of Fada N'Gourma, the meeting room of the regional council of the East, and the courthouse.
The prosecutor of the Fada N'Gourma High Court, Salam Ou©draogo, indicated that by launching the solemn ceremony for the special operation "Empty Lockers", the judicial world aims to make these sessions more visible to encourage public attendance. He emphasized that the hearings serve as educational opportunities for the public to gain a better understanding of the justice system.
Salam Ou©draogo specified that during these hearings, the cases to be examined and processed include fatal assault, assault and battery, rape, and destruction of property. Prosecutor Ou©draogo invited the public to attend these hearings to understand how the country's judicial system works, the debates that take place, and the delivery of judgments.
Notary Maimouna Coulibaly welcomed this initiative by the Burkinabe authorities. She believes the special operation will bring justice closer to individuals and will educate and inform the population. Ms. Coulibaly wished these hearings success, as they will bring benefits to the population.
