Training Session Launched to Strengthen Security in Ziro Schools Through Safe School Approach

Sapouy: The Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education of Ziro organized a training session on Tuesday in Sapouy for the province's educational supervisors on the "Safe School" approach. The objective of the session is to create a protective and resilient school environment in the face of security and humanitarian crises.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony was chaired by Toudassida Marcel Ilboudo, Preschool Education Inspector, representing the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education of Ziro. Over the course of four days, participants from the province's six municipalities will be equipped to define the Safe School approach, map the vulnerabilities of the local education system, develop preparedness and response plans, and conduct psychosocial support activities.

The purpose of the session is to strengthen local capacities so that schools remain safe, inclusive, and conducive to learning, even in emergency situations. The training will continue until Friday, April 18, 2025, and should result in the creation of a pool of trainers capable of sharing the knowledge acquired in the various municipalities of Ziro.
