Zondoma: The citizen watchdog movement FASO KOOZ, in collaboration with the Convergence of Revolutionaries for the Defense of the Fatherland (CRDP), organized a public conference on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Courcy. The legacy of the pioneers of the Revolution was the focus of discussions with the province's youth.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Moussa Savadogo, provincial coordinator of FASO KOOZ, emphasized the importance of raising awareness, training young people, challenging authorities, and defending the interests of the people with integrity and courage. He noted that the theme of the conference, "The legacy of the pioneers of the Revolution: What values should be retained for a more committed civic watch that promotes justice and social cohesion?", aims to inspire young people to draw from past experiences to strengthen their vigilance and civic engagement alongside Comrade President, Captain Ibrahim Traor©.
Four key figures in the August 1984 Revolution, Alouna Traor©, Rasman© Ou©draogo, Marc Bebyand© Ou©draogo, and Mahamadi Sawadogo, led the discussions under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of Zondoma Province, Anatole P. Kabor©. Mr. Sawadogo highlighted the significance of educating young activists on values like integrity, discipline, and courage, and involving them in community projects to build their country.
Marc Ou©draogo, a former CDR, pointed out similarities between the current regime and that of Thomas Sankara, particularly in terms of popular support. Alouna Traor© encouraged young people to unite and support the progressive popular revolution (RPP) currently underway.
Rasman© Ou©draogo explained the creation of the movement, the Convergence of Revolutionaries for the Defense of the Fatherland, which shares the ideals of the revolution, such as endogenous development, integrity, and good governance.
Participants pledged to support the current revolution, viewing it as a significant opportunity for the country. Secretary General Anatole P. Kabor© urged the youth to transform their admiration for revolutionary icons into active civic participation.
