Nouna: Christians of the Central Church of the Assemblies of God in Nouna celebrated Easter in sobriety this Sunday, April 20, 2025. Pastor Jean Kinda urged the faithful to be examples and to follow the word of Christ as taught in the Gospels. Like the Christian faithful, during forty days of fasting and almsgiving, Christians celebrated Jesus' victory over death. At the Central Assemblies of God Church, the brothers in Christ listened first to Sunday lessons, followed by praise and worship with performances by the choir.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Pastor Jean Kinda emphasized the significance of the Easter festival, symbolizing God's love and marking the resurrection as the victory over death. "Our wish is for the return of displaced populations to their respective localities and for peace in Burkina Faso," Pastor Kinda emphasized.
The presence of the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Nouna, Souleymane Tiono, representing the High Commissioner, and his entourage, added significance to the ceremony, marking a first in the history of the church. Mr. Tiono introduced the members of his delegation and praised the church members for their contribution to social cohesion and living together in the commune of Nouna.
