Kaya: The Centre-North region, like many other areas across the national territory, showed strong support for President Captain Ibrahim Traor© during a significant gathering at Place du D©fil© in Kaya on April 30, 2025. The event was organized by the regional coordination of citizen monitoring associations, drawing in men, women, young people, and children from all over the region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the large meeting took place under the leadership of Colonel-Major Z. Blaise Ou©draogo, Governor and President of the special regional delegation of the Centre-North. The event commenced with traditional blessings from the Tigr© naaba, Chief of Kaya. Amidst musical entertainment and supportive slogans, various speakers, including Issa Lagvar©, Joseph Bamogo, Bahadio Karim, Bembamba Hamado, Pastor Marc Ou©draogo, Pafadnam Fati, and the Manenyam Naaba de Naaba Koom of Sanmatenga, took to the stage to voice their condemnation of statements made by an American general. They reiterated the Centre-North region's unwavering support for President Traor© in his pursuit of royal independence for Burkina Faso.
Governor Ou©draogo, who presided over the ceremony, expressed satisfaction with the messages of reassurance received. He emphasized that each step towards total independence for Burkina Faso might provoke jealousy from other countries. The Colonel-Major urged the people to remain vigilant and committed to maintaining order and discipline, while also addressing those with potential ties to terrorist activities.
The event concluded with a joint statement delivered by Sawadogo, Secretary General of the CNAVC of the Centre-North, in an atmosphere marked by disapproval of the American general's remarks.
